MALE HAIR LOSS RESULTS

10.03.2009 in HAIR LOSS [ PHOTOS ] TREATED, MALE HAIR LOSS

Androgenetic alopecia (Male Pattern hair Loss) has a characteristic pattern of hair loss; it begins with a slight recession at the front hairline and is followed by thinning on the crown of the head.  The hair above the ears and at the nape of the neck is unaffected.  The hair loss results from a complex chemical reaction when the enzyme 5-alpha-reductase converts the testosterone in the system into DHT or dihydrotestosterone.  The hair follicles are genetically predisposed to be over sensitive to the DHT and become smaller and smaller with time, leading to the eventual hair loss.

Here is 26 year old man who has started treament with us under the supervision and advice from our trichologist Gary Heron. Here you can assess for yourself how he has responded to treatments from November 2008 to March 2009. He is using a combination therapy of a 5% Minoxidil Plus and a 15% Biostim solution applied topically twice a day.

We have advised that this young man uses the treatments listed below for 12 months initially. On these results this young man has already told us that he will just keep on using his treatments all the time.

Minoxidil 5%+ Hair Growth Stimulant
Minoxidil is a vasodilator and dilates the blood capillaries responsible for blood supply to the hair follicles, thus allowing more blood to reach the hair follicles and encourage hair growth.
Directions for use: One millilitre to be massaged into the scalp gently twice a day, morning and evening, and left on for at least 8 hours.
Please note: As vasodilators are designed to dilate the capillary blood vessels the scalp may redden on the area where the stimulant is applied and may also tingle slightly for a while.

Biostim 15% Hair Regrowth Stimulant and Hair Loss Stabiliser
This stimulant contains a multi-vitamin complex to stimulate the hair follicles and increase hair cell production and proliferation.  It is also designed to prolong the hair growth cycle, promoting increased hair growth and density.

Who Is the Right Person To See About My Hair Loss Problem? Is It the Doctor? If Not Who?

09.03.2009 in TRICHOLOGIST

To get advice and treatment for hair loss, you should always start with either your GP or a trichologist.

Until very recently hair loss of any shape or form was regarded as a natural process to be endured. Your Doctor would be neither sympathetic nor understanding or helpful if you plucked up the courage to see him or her about your hair loss problem.

But things may be slowly changing. An increasing number of doctors realise that hair loss can have psychological consequences that significantly diminish quality of life, especially for both younger men and women alike, and they are becoming slightly more willing to take your hair loss problem more seriously than in the past.

If you are lucky enough to have an enlightened GP, by all means seek their advice at the very least, youll get a referral to a reliable trichologist (although you will probably have to pay for any treatment you receive).

A trichologist, by the way, is a hair specialist whose training covers both the cosmetic and the medical aspects of the subject

Tricho-Peptide Anti-Hair Loss Treatment
This treatment contains a new molecule CLA Glutathione combined with sodium DNA, with very high biologic activity.  At the scalp level the potent anti free radical activity of the Tricho-peptide counteracts the degeneration of the connective tissue around the hair bulbs.  It is also designed to be a powerful anti oxidant and free radical inhibitor that enhances cell repair and regeneration.
Directions for use: Two millilitres to be massaged into the scalp gently once a day and left on for at least 8 hours.

TRICHO-PEPTIDE ANTI-HAIR LOSS TREATMENT

OVERVIEW
A topical anti-hair loss treatment of modified marine origin, demonstrated to be highly effective in the prevention and production of premature hair loss.

APPLICATION
Apply daily to the scalp with gentle massage.

TRICHO-PEPTIDE
Tricho-peptide contains a new molecule CLA Glutathione combined with sodium DNA, with very high biologic activity. At the scalp level the potent anti free radical activity of the tricho-peptide counteracts the degeneration of the connective tissue around the hair bulbs in cases of androgenetic alopecia. Tricho-peptide is a powerful anti oxidant and free radical inhibitor that enhances cell repair and regeneration, which tests showed could act as a regulator of the hair loss process.

TEST DATA

Tests on anagen hair follicles treated with tricho-peptide for three months showed a 40.00% improvement on anti hair loss activity compared with a control group treated with Minoxydil over the same period where the improvement was less at 17.60%.

SUMMARY
Tricho-peptide is a potent anti oxidant and free radical inhibitor which can act as a regulator of the bio chemical hair loss process.

Fact or Fiction: Improper hair care can lead to hair loss

05.03.2009 in HAIR LOSS FACTS

Fact!

If you wear pigtails or cornrows or use tight hair rollers, the pull on your hair can cause a type of hair loss called traction alopecia. If the pulling is stopped before scarring of the scalp develops, your hair will grow back normally.

cornrows

However, scarring can cause permanent damage to the hair and scalp. Hot oil hair treatments or chemicals used in perms may cause swelling of the hair follicle, which can also result in scarring and cause permanent hair loss.
