Severe traction alopecia and severe chemical trauma – Treatment in progress

06.02.2017 in BEFORE & AFTERS, BLACK AFRO-CARIBBEAN HAIR LOSS, FEMALE HAIR LOSS, FEMALE HAIR LOSS [ PHOTOS ] TREATED, HAIR LOSS [ PHOTOS ] TREATED

Yvonne visited us for the first time back in October 2015 and was diagnosed as suffering with severe traction alopecia and severe chemical trauma of the hair and scalp.

Traction alopecia is caused by putting hair under constant strain – by wearing tight braids, pigtails, ponytails, repeated use of hair rollers, hair extensions, hair weaves or wigs attached with clips/tape or glue. Severe chemical trauma is usually caused by bleaching, perming, relaxing and dyeing your hair. Chemicals involved in such processes can damage hair follicles and contribute to hair loss.

Male-Pattern Hair loss treatment in progress

03.02.2017 in BEFORE & AFTERS, HAIR LOSS [ PHOTOS ] TREATED, MALE HAIR LOSS

Tim is with us since November 2013 and was diagnosed with androgenetic alopecia, also known as male-pattern hair loss. It starts with slight recession at the front hairline and is followed by thinning on the crown of the head. This hair loss results from a complex chemical reaction when the enzyme 5-alpha-reductase converts the testosterone in the system into DHT or dihydrotestosterone. The hair follicles are genetically predisposed to be oversensitive to the DHT and become smaller and smaller with time, leading to the eventual hair loss. Tim is using our Follicle builder and trichopeptide treatment along with our specialist shampoo and conditioner.
