MALE HAIR LOSS (RESULTS)

07.11.2008 in HAIR LOSS [ PHOTOS ] TREATED, MALE HAIR LOSS

“After 8 years of hair loss and seeing HAIR LOSS ADVERTS everywhere I turned, I decided to jump in feet first and have a go myself. The reality is that I expected nothing in return, I just felt let’s have a go and see what happens, besides its only money. Surgery? No thanks! If that goes wrong the damage is irreversable. Lets see, what about treatments for hair loss? Good God there seem to be THOUSANDS OF THEM and they ALL WORK! I doubt it. So I did my sceptical research and came up with The Hair Centre in Westminster. I arrived for the day of my consultation. Before I went through to meet my trichologist Mr Gary Heron I spoke to three or four of the patients in the reception area who were all at different stages of treatment. They all said the same thing. That coming to see Gary at The Hair Centre was the best thing they had ever done. I have subsequently spoken to many other patients over the past 6 months at the Centre and they confirm this view. In fact, some patients had been to other trichologists in the same area with poor or no results. My view is simple, I am delighted with my new hair. I call it my new hair because now for the first time in years I have a hair style rather than just a balding head.”

This is me. See for yourself:

Hair Stimulants by The Hair Centre, Hair Loss Treatments And Products

07.11.2008 in HAIR LOSS PRODUCTS AND TREATMENTS

Vitastim Hair Stimulant – (VIT)

Description: Herbal based aqueous lotion with multivitamin system, applied topically to stimulate dormant hair follicles and accelerate hair growth in the treatment of androgenic alopecia. Contents: Humulus Lupulus (Hop Extract) Mono Propylene Glycol Ceramide Panthenol Calcium Pantothenate (Vitamin B3) Vitamin E Vitamin A Vitamin H (Biotin) Vitamin H (P.A.B.A.) Inositol (Vitamin B8) Methyl Hydroxy Benzoate Aqua

Mode of Action: Hop extract contains phyto-oestrogens, naturally occurring oestrogens that inhibit the activity of the enzyme 5-µ reductase and reduce the proliferation of the potent metabolite di-hydroxy testosterone (DHT), which causes atrophy, and eventual loss of the hair follicle in genetically determined areas of the scalp. These phyto-oestrogens can also recover dormant hair follicles suppressed by androgen activity. The multivitamin system, particularly Vitamin H (Biotin) catalyse the process of conversion of amino acids into keratin hair cells and accelerates growth and diameter of the hair from the dermal papilla.

Clinical Trials: Considerable anecdotal evidence has supported the oestrogen like activity of hop extract and recent scientific research has confirmed that hop extract shows a potent acceleration on hair growth in cases of androgenic alopecia.

Directions for use: 1 ml to be massaged gently into the scalp twice-daily.

Ingredients: Aqua, Humulus Lupulus ext, PEG-35 Castor Oil, Polysorbate 20, Aesculus Hipposastanum ext, Retinyl Palmitate, Tocopherol, PABA, Inositol, Calcium Panthothenate, Linoleic Acid, Biotin, Urea, Allantoin.

Biostim Hair Stimulant – (BIO)

Description: A combination of naturally occurring 5-reductase inhibitors with added multivitamin complex for the stimulation of hair follicles suppressed by the action of Androgens in cases of androgenic alopecia.

Mode of Action: 5-reductase inhibitors act as anti-androgens, reducing the levels of di-hydroxy testosterone (DHT), decreasing the levels of androgen activity at the target site. The consequent reduced levels of DHT stabilise or reduce the level of atrophy of the hair follicle and shaft in the genetically determined areas in the treatment of androgenic alopecia. The hair growth period (anagen) is prolonged and promotes increased hair growth and density.

Clinical Trials: Clinical trials of the natural ingredients have established anti-androgen activity and the ability to suppress di-hydroxy testosterone (DHT) formation, beneficial in cases of androgenic alopecia. The increased dermal papilla activity increases hair cell production and proliferation, increases the number of hairs in the anagen phase and increases the A/T (anagen/telogen ration).

Directions for use: 1 ml to be massaged gently into the scalp twice-daily.

Ingredients: Aqua, Sabal Serrulata ext, Propylene Glycol, PEG-35 Castor Oil. Polysorbate 20, Aesculus Hipposastanum etx, Retinyl Palmitate, Tocopherol, PABA, Inositol, Calcium Pantothenate, Linoleic Acid, Biotin, Urea, Allantoin, Phenoxyethanol, Methyl Paraben, Butyl Paraben, Ethyl Paraben, Propyl Paraben, Isobutyl Paraben.

FEMALE HAIR LOSS: RESULTS WITHIN 4 MONTHS

07.11.2008 in FEMALE HAIR LOSS, HAIR LOSS [ PHOTOS ] TREATED

Androgenetic alopecia has a characteristic pattern of female hair loss; it begins with a slight recession at the front hairline and is followed by thinning on the crown of the head.  This hair loss results from a complex chemical reaction when the enzyme 5-alpha-reductase converts the testosterone in the system into DHT or dihydrotestosterone.  The hair follicles are genetically predisposed to be oversensitive to the DHT and become smaller and smaller with time, leading to the eventual hair loss.

Alex is using the prescribed treatments listed below:

Vitastim 15% Hair Regrowth Stimulant and Hair Loss Stabiliser
This stimulant is recommended to help stabilise hair loss and strengthen existing hair.  It is a natural hop-based solution that works as a vasodilator to increase blood circulation in the scalp and so enable healthy hair growth.

Biostim 15% Hair Regrowth Stimulant and Hair Loss Stabiliser
This stimulant contains a multi-vitamin complex to stimulate the hair follicles and increase hair cell production and proliferation.  It is also designed to prolong the hair growth cycle, promoting increased hair growth and density.

More Hair Loss Genes Identified

06.11.2008 in HAIR LOSS SCIENCE

Research projects for male pattern baldness have been increasing recently and they all seem to be focusing on locating genetic triggers which initiate the world’s most common type of baldness in men. Just recently the Universities of Bonn and Dusseldorf identified a group of seven gene variants all of which are directly linked to male pattern baldness.

Finding the genes that trigger male pattern baldness not only opens up avenues of research in order to find remedies to stop the triggers from activating but also opens up the possibility of testing to see whether you have these genes at an early age, and therefore letting you know whether you will suffer from male pattern baldness in the future.

The researchers are finding that it is not just one simple gene that causes male pattern baldness but a number of interacting genetic triggers which increase the chances of the condition appearing. The process is extremely complicated and it will be many years, (if they do manage) before scientists will be able to develop something to prevent the genetic onset of male pattern baldness in men.

The researchers also noted that this research could be used to help people who suffer from deafness. The reason being is that the majority of hearing loss is due to the fact that mammals are unable to replace hair cells that have become damaged and which are essential for good hearing.

The only hair loss medication to have an effect on male pattern baldness at the genetic level is the drug Propecia made by the pharmaceutical company Merck.  Propecia works by preventing the build up of the compound of Dihydrotestosterone which occurs in the scalp in some men. The Dihydrotestosterone compound is a perfectly normal thing for men to have however it does cause male pattern baldness which is so distressing to some men.

Propecia is statistically the most effective drug to treat male pattern baldness in the world at present and is used by over 4 million men worldwide.
