Question: What’s the best treatment for women for thinning hair or hair loss?

Answer: For thinning hair or hair loss, the first thing to consider is whether there is a thyroid issue. An underactive thyroid can cause thinning hair, even around the eyebrows (examine the outer ends of your eyebrows). Iron deficiency and stress can also cause hair to fall out. If you suspect thyroid issues, include sea vegetables (dulse, kelp, nori) in your diet several times a week.

Specific nutrients that support hair growth include:

Silica: Strengthens collagen that supports hair matrix and accelerates growth.

Zinc: A common deficiency experienced by balding men, white specks on your fingernails will indicate if this is the cause. Try supplementing with zinc for a few weeks.

Protein: Ensure your diet contains adequate amounts of protein. Nuts, beans, fish, meat, and eggs are good sources. If you are vegetarian or vegan, introduce a vegan protein shake made from hemp, soy, almond, or rice protein.

VITASTIM

Considerable empirical evidence has supported the oestrogen like activity of hop extract and recent scientific research has confirmed that hop extract shows a potent acceleration on hair growth in cases of androgenic alopecia.

BIOSTIM

Clinical trials of the natural ingredients have established anti-androgen activity and the ability to suppress di-hydroxy testosterone (DHT) formation, beneficial in cases of androgenic alopecia.  The increased dermal papilla activity increases hair cell production and proliferation, increases the number of hairs in the anagen phase and increases the A/T (anagen/telogen ration).

Vitastim and Biostim used together are proven treatments for both male and female-pattern baldness.

Most users see improvements, including a halt to the balding or slowing down of it, as well as thicker hair.

In order to treat hair loss effectively we would recommend that you have a diagnosis made as soon as possible by one of our experienced Westminster Trichologists. Stress can be an aggravator in almost all cases of hair loss and an accurate diagnosis will always, at the very least, take some of the stress away from you.

Gary Heron says: “You’ll have access to the most effective treatments available through The Hair Centre and at a fraction of the cost of going to other Private Commercial Clinics and Centres.”

When it’s time to see the Trichologist: If you begin losing hair rapidly, and or are cosmetically concerned about baldness, consult your Trichologist about treatment options. You can receive a free hair loss consultation with a Westminster Trichologist at our Hair Centre.

The point is that you are not getting to the real problem and you should seek specific professional advice from a Westminster Trichologist.
