TRACTION and TRAUMATIC ALOPECIA
16 Jul 2008, by ALOPECIA AREATA, Uncategorized inThis condition is caused by repeated MANUAL traction, e.g. Trichotillamania,( a psychosomatic condition where the patient pulls ones hair out ), Braiding , Pony tails. Curlers worn at night. Hot combing to straighten the hair. Constant pulling over long periods of time will eventually cause weakness in the Henley and Huxley layers of the hair, and Atrophy of the follicle (gradual shrinking )
Lack of visibility of the follicle opening and scaring indicates final destruction of the hair follicle.

My hair loss resembles the picture on your website. I can’t afford expensive hair transplant. Will yout treatment help with traction alopecia?
my hair looks the same way!!!! omg
My hair is the same way, are there treatments or is this condition permanent.
My hair loss looks just like the one on the website. The only way I can disguise this is to gel the front of my hair down using a non alcohol gel. My hair is long on all the other parts of my head so I have to take some from the back and bring it to the front for coverage.
