Alopecia Areata is an extremely common condition and will affect 1% to 2% of the population at some point in their lives.  Most sufferers are children and young adults (below 40 years old), though it can affect people of all ages.  The hair loss is sudden and manifests itself in small, smooth-skinned patches that are likely to gradually widen with time.  It can also affect the sufferers nails, giving them a pitted, ridged or brittle appearance.  The exact cause is still unknown, although current theories include an auto-immune disease, stress or suggest a genetic basis.

Vitastim 15% Hair Regrowth Stimulant and Hair Loss Stabiliser

This stimulant is recommended to help stabilise hair loss and strengthen existing hair.  It is a natural hop-based solution that works as a vasodilator to increase blood circulation in the scalp and so enable healthy hair growth.  It also contains a multi-vitamin complex to help catalyse the process of conversion of amino acids into keratin hair cells and accelerate growth and diameter of the hair from the dermal papilla.
Directions for use: One millilitre to be massaged into the scalp gently twice a day, morning and evening, and left on for at least 8 hours.

Directions for Use: Wet hair thoroughly, rub shampoo between palms of hands and apply to hair.  Rinse well, repeat if necessary.

No.5 Conditioner

This is a rich, reconditioning treatment that is excellent on dry, dull, fragile hair, which tends to break easily.  It is designed to penetrate deep into the hair structure to moisturise and condition the hair at micro cellular level rather than just treating the surface of the hair.  It contains jojoba and evening primrose oils, glycerine and wheat protein, which help to reform broken bonds in the hair giving it more strength and elasticity.
Directions for Use: After shampooing, spread the conditioner over the hair, gently working it through.  Leave on for 20-30 minutes and then rinse well.
