Important Information About PROPECIA

Women who are or may potentially be pregnant must not use PROPECIA and should not handle crushed or broken PROPECIA tablets because the active ingredient may cause abnormalities of a male baby’s sex organs. If a woman who is pregnant comes into contact with the active ingredient in PROPECIA, a doctor should be consulted. PROPECIA tablets are coated and will prevent contact with the active ingredient during normal handling, provided that the tablets are not broken or crushed.

In clinical studies for PROPECIA, a small number of men experienced certain sexual side effects, such as less desire for sex, difficulty in achieving an erection, or a decrease in the amount of semen. Each of these side effects occurred in less than 2% of men and went away in men who stopped taking PROPECIA because of them.

Although results will vary, generally you will not be able to grow back all the hair you have lost.

FDA CLEARS THE HAIRMAX LASERCOMB FOR THE PROMOTION OF HAIR GROWTH

31.01.2008 in Uncategorized

BOCA RATON, FL, February 2007 – Lexington International LLC is proud to announce the landmark achievement of US Food & Drug Administration (FDA) clearance for their medical laser device, the HairMax LaserComb®. Through years of extensive research and clinical studies in the science of hair growth, Lexington has developed an affordable and convenient, hand-held laser device, now clinically proven to promote hair growth in males with androgenetic alopecia (Norwood IIA to V with Fitzpatrick skin types I to IV).

To view FDA’s public record of this clearance visit www.fda.gov/cdrh/pdf6/K060305.pdf.

This FDA clearance of the HairMax LaserComb offers an exciting new modality for the promotion of hair growth in males.  Until now, the FDA has only approved two other products as solutions to combat hair loss, a condition that affects approximately 55 million men in the U.S.  But the HairMax LaserComb stands out as the only proven drug-free alternative.  This gives many hair loss sufferers, previously unable or unwilling to turn to drug-based solutions, newfound hope in their battle. Fortunately, treatments using the HairMax LaserComb are easy to administer, only 10 to 15 minutes three times per week, and the laser device is convenient to use in the comfort and privacy of your own home.

For the FDA submission, Lexington conducted an extensive clinical study in four different locations across the United States. The study concluded that 93% of the participants (ages 30-60) using the HairMax LaserComb had an increase in the number of terminal (thick) hairs. The average number of terminal hairs per square centimeter increased by 19 hairs/cm² over a six-month period. During the study, there were no reports of serious adverse events. The number and types of adverse events were similar in both the active and placebo groups.

Lexington’s clinical study investigating the efficacy of the HairMax LaserComb in females is concluding and they will be submitting the data to the FDA shortly.

David Michaels, Managing Director, shares his thoughts on this momentous announcement, “We are very excited that we have reached a major milestone in hair care and science.  Laser hair therapy is the talk of the hair restoration industry today.  And not only were the results of this study extremely significant, but with the credibility of the FDA clearance, we are soundly positioned to make a substantial impact in the emerging hair restoration industry.”

Dr. Matt Leavitt, Chief Medical Advisor to Lexington, expresses his enthusiasm on news of the FDA clearance, “The HairMax LaserComb is a method of treatment that can be of great help to men of all ages suffering from hair loss. I am impressed with the protocol and results from the clinical trials that Lexington has conducted. With the FDA clearing the HairMax LaserComb as a medical device, it offers an attractive option for hair growth for medical practitioners. We can now deliver a new modality to our patients and achieve strong user satisfaction.”

Randy Veliky, Lexington COO, concludes, “The HairMax LaserComb will revolutionize the hair growth industry, but we are not stopping there. Lexington is dedicated to continuing research into laser technology. We will be expanding our offering of laser hair growth solutions to include freestanding clinical units, affordable laser panel arrays for the home market and broadening the features of our current products.”

For over 20 years, the directors of Lexington have been at the forefront of laser hair growth research. Born from this passion for innovation, The HairMax LaserComb uses a patented technology to part the hair allowing the focused laser energy to reach the scalp. The laser is most effective when it has an unobstructed path directly to the hair follicle. Through extensive research, Lexington has determined the optimal wavelength and energy level needed to deliver maximum results. Lexington’s continued dedication to consistent innovation ensures that users are always receiving the latest in laser hair technology.

Results with PROPECIA.

26.01.2008 in Uncategorized

The earlier, the better
Hair loss is progressive, so the earlier you start taking PROPECIA, the better. The 5-year clinical study demonstrated the benefit of treating hair loss earlier with PROPECIA.

results-charts.jpg

After 5 years, a majority of the men reported:

Bald spot getting smaller
Hair loss slowing down
Appearance of their hair improving
A vast majority of the men were rated by doctors as having more hair. If you’re concerned about hair loss, talk with your doctor about your treatment options.

With PROPECIA, men can see results in as little as 3 months. Learn more about when you can expect to see results.

Important Information About PROPECIA
PROPECIA was developed to treat mild to moderate male pattern hair loss on the vertex (top of head) and anterior mid-scalp area (middle front of head) in MEN ONLY. There is not sufficient evidence that PROPECIA works for receding hairlines at the temples.

PROPECIA is for the treatment of male pattern hair loss in MEN ONLY and should NOT be used by women or children.

Each of these side effects occurred in less than 2% of men and went away in men who stopped taking PROPECIA because of them.

You may need to take PROPECIA daily for 3 months or more before you see a benefit from taking PROPECIA. If PROPECIA has not worked for you within 12 months, further treatment is unlikely to be of benefit.

PROPECIA can only work over the long term if you continue taking it. If you stop taking PROPECIA, you will likely lose any hair you have gained within 12 months of stopping treatment.

Although results will vary, generally you will not be able to grow back all the hair you have lost.

Know the facts. PROPECIA is available by prescription only, so the best thing to do is talk with your doctor.

PROPECIA tablets are coated and will prevent contact with the active ingredient during normal handling, provided that the tablets are not broken or crushed.

Clinical studies showed that side effects were uncommon and did not affect most men.
A small number of men had sexual side effects, with each occurring in less than 2% of men. These include less desire for sex, difficulty in achieving an erection, and a decrease in the amount of semen. These side effects went away in men who stopped taking PROPECIA because of them. In addition, these side effects decreased to 0.3% of men or less by the fifth year of treatment.

PROPECIA can affect a blood test called PSA (prostate-specific antigen) for the screening of prostate cancer. If you have a PSA test done, tell your doctor that you are taking PROPECIA.
In general use, the following side effects have been reported: allergic reactions including rash, itching, hives, and swelling of the lips and face; problems with ejaculation; breast tenderness and enlargement; and testicular pain. You should promptly report to your doctor any changes in your breasts such as lumps, pain, or nipple discharge. Tell your doctor promptly about these or any other side effects.

Know the facts. PROPECIA is available by prescription only, so the best thing to do is talk with your doctor.

Get hair care growth and formula for hair loss treatment

24.01.2008 in Uncategorized

When choosing the attire for the evening party, one also thinks and plans in advance on what hair style they wish to sport to the event. This holds true especially for women, who love experimenting and trying to stay in sync with the fashion trends. These days, me too have begun going to salons to try different treatments and styling techniques. Hair is what determines the personality of a person, even if someone is wearing a designer outfit, if they don’t have a good mop of hair, they are frowned upon. This is a sign of bad health or the person has not taken care of their hair. Hair loss occurs in both men and women for a variety of reasons. They could be due to bad eating habits, where in the person is not getting required amount of nutrients or vitamins from what they eat; other habits such as chain smoking or abusing drugs which will affect the system thereby reflecting on hair cells. Some of the other reasons are hormonal imbalances, or undergoing harsh treatments for ailments like Cancer or diabetes. It has also been noted that people face hair loss on taking certain medication or after they have undergone surgery.

It is essential to be aware of the hair care and growth formula that will help those suffering from hair loss issues. Before taking any treatment, one must understand that hair grows only 1 and half inches every month. They cannot expect miracles to happen overnight, if that is what they want, then a wig or hair extension is there only solution. Today, there are various hair creams and lotions available, that one need to apply on their scalp or take orally.

For fast hair growth or reduction in hair loss, it is essential to take a look at the patient’s personality and lifestyle, and make necessary changes to it. If they eat at odd hours, and unhealthy food is consumed regularly, it must be controlled. They should be educated on the importance of eating a balanced diet to help their body work better. This will also stimulate the hair cells and enable hair growth. Certain shampoos contain high levels of chemicals and even though they are marketed cleverly, one must consult their dermatologist or hair specialist before using them. Another option would be to start working out regularly, when we do exercise, it increases our metabolism, burns fat into energy and keeps us healthy.

Thyroid test should be done to see if that is cause for hair loss and necessary medication must be taken regularly to curb hair loss. Gone are the days, when only male members faced hair loss, today women are also observing thinning of hair, receding hairline and hair becoming dry and falling off. If we lose upto 100strands per day, it is considered to be normal, but beyond that is a cause for concern. Consumption of iron rich foods like greens, cabbage, or iron supplement pills will also help reduce hair loss problems.
