HAIR LOSS TREATMENT SOLUTION

28.11.2008 in HAIR LOSS [ PHOTOS ] TREATED, HAIR LOSS PRODUCTS AND TREATMENTS

A while back, you noticed it – the hair at your temples seemed a bit thinner.

Now, that hair is nearly gone, and the top of your head is starting to thin. You sigh. As you pass the family photo in the hall on your way to grab that first cup of coffee of the morning, you can’t help but wonder if your hair is following the time – honoured family tradition.

Are you destined to have a shiny pate like so many of the men in your family? What are the symptoms and causes of hair loss, and will a treatment like Biostim help?

Hair Loss Symptoms and Causes

If hair is thinning in a predictable pattern, then it is a case of male-pattern baldness. If this is the case, then the man will experience thinning at the temples followed by more loss on the top of the head. Eventually, he will be left with a fringe around the head, but the top will be completely bald. Should this be the case, Biostim may well be the treatment to help this type of inherited hair loss.

MALE HAIR LOSS RESULTS AFTER 6 MONTHS

24.11.2008 in HAIR LOSS [ PHOTOS ] TREATED, MALE HAIR LOSS

MAY 2008 (BEFORE TREATMENT) NOVEMBER 2008 (NOW)

We prescribed the following treatments:

Vitastim 15% Hair Regrowth Stimulant and Hair Loss Stabiliser:
This stimulant is recommended to help stabilise hair loss and strengthen existing hair.  It is a natural hop-based solution that works as a vasodilator to increase blood circulation in the scalp and so enable healthy hair growth.  It also contains a multi-vitamin complex to help catalyse the process of conversion of amino acids into keratin hair cells and accelerate growth and diameter of the hair from the dermal papilla.

Biostim 15% Hair Regrowth Stimulant and Hair Loss Stabiliser
This stimulant contains a very effective natural 5-alpha reductase inhibitor. It reduces the amount of 5-alpha reductase in the scalp and thereby reduces the formation of DHT, stabilising hair loss and encouraging a healthy growth cycle.

Male Pattern Hair Loss And How To Combat It

21.11.2008 in HAIR LOSS [ PHOTOS ] TREATED, MALE HAIR LOSS

Male Pattern Hair Loss (Androgenetic Alopecia as it is scientifically known), is the most common form of hair loss amongst men representing almost 95% of all cases in the UK. This condition of male hair loss, usually starts between the ages of 20 to 45 years of age with the development of a receding hairline and a thinning on the crown area. This condition affects 1 in 2 men at some point throughout their lives.
The entire process of genetic hair loss can take anywhere up to 25 years and is characterised by the typical ‘M’ shape to which the hairline eventually recedes. However in some patients this process can happen over a much shorter period of time with complete baldness within 5 years and at a very early age (late teens).

What causes Male Pattern Hair Loss?
It is universally believed throughout the scientific community that male pattern hair loss is caused by the two main factors of genetics and the body’s production of, as well as sensitivity to, the sex hormone dihydrotestosterone (DHT).
DHT, or Dihydrotestosterone, is produced from the breakdown of testosterone by an enzyme in the body. This sex hormone, which is found on the scalp, gets into the hair follicles and shrinks them preventing visible hair from growing. As well as this, DHT also thickens the scalp reducing blood flow to the capillaries which also works to inhibit future hair growth.

Who does Male Pattern Hair Loss affect?
Male pattern baldness affects virtually all men by the time they have reached their 50’s, although the age at which this hair loss starts is considerably variable. Around half of all 50 year old men and 3 out of 10, 30 year old men suffer from this condition to some degree.

How common is Male Pattern Hair Loss?
Approximately 70% of all men will be affected by Male Pattern Hair Loss at some point throughout their lives. This is approximately 7 million men losing their hair at any one given time. Male Pattern Hair Loss affects different sections of the population at different rates, thought mainly to be due to the genetic nature of this condition. As many as half of all Caucasian males will experience hair loss at some point throughout their lives, where as in contrast Japanese and Chinese men have amongst the lowest rates for developing this complaint.

FEMALE HAIR LOSS (ASIAN HAIR): RESULTS

14.11.2008 in FEMALE HAIR LOSS, HAIR LOSS [ PHOTOS ] TREATED

Androgenetic alopecia has a characteristic pattern of female hair loss; it begins with a slight recession at the front hairline and is followed by thinning on the crown of the head. This hair loss results from a complex chemical reaction when the enzyme 5-alpha-reductase converts the testosterone in the system into DHT or dihydrotestosterone. The hair follicles are genetically predisposed to be oversensitive to the DHT and become smaller and smaller with time, leading to the eventual hair loss.
