FEMALE HAIR LOSS RESULTS: BLACK HAIR Afro-Caribbean (Progress Update)

23.04.2009 in BLACK AFRO-CARIBBEAN HAIR LOSS, FEMALE HAIR LOSS, HAIR LOSS [ PHOTOS ] TREATED

Traction alopecia is hair loss caused by constant tension of braids and extensions on the hair, such as that created by an over-tight ponytail, plaiting or through using too tight rollers to style the hair.  The action of pulling on the hair over a long period of time results in the gradual shrinking of the hair follicle and so the hairs produced become finer and finer and permanently damaged if not treated.

Chemical trauma can be caused to the hair by bleaching, relaxing, perming or even dying the hair.  The chemicals involved in these processes can damage the protein structure of the hair, making it brittle and often causing hair loss.  As well as damaging the hair, these chemicals are also not good for the scalp and can irritate it.

Androgenetic alopecia in women is often linked to hormonal changes with the hair loss following events such as the menopause, childbirth or as a result of stopping or starting oral contraceptive pills.  The hair loss is generally more uniform over the scalp than in the male counterpart, but also results from a complex chemical reaction when the enzyme 5-alpha-reductase converts the testosterone in the system into DHT or dihydrotestosterone.  The hair follicles are genetically predisposed to be over sensitive to the DHT and become smaller and smaller with time, leading to the eventual hair loss.

To ensure healthy regrowth, our Westminster Trichologist Gary Heron recommend an intensive 12-month treatment course of:

Vitastim 15% Hair Regrowth Stimulant and Hair Loss Stabiliser

This stimulant is recommended to help stabilise hair loss and strengthen existing hair.  It is a natural hop-based solution that works as a vasodilator to increase blood circulation in the scalp and so enable healthy hair growth.
Directions for use: One millilitre to be massaged into the scalp gently twice a day, morning and evening, and left on for at least 8 hours.
Please note: As vasodilators are designed to dilate the capillary blood vessels the scalp may redden on the area where the stimulant is applied and may also tingle slightly for a while.

Biostim 15% Hair Regrowth Stimulant and Hair Loss Stabiliser
This stimulant contains a multi-vitamin complex to stimulate the hair follicles and increase hair cell production and proliferation.  It is also designed to prolong the hair growth cycle, promoting increased hair growth and density.
Directions for use: One millilitre to be massaged into the scalp gently twice a day, morning and evening, and left on for at least 8 hours.

DID YOU KNOW?

Our  Hair Centre Treatment Programme (HCTP) has been designed by expert chemists and trichologist and is based on clinically proven results.

In fact, in clinical studies 9 out of 10 women with female pattern baldness kept their hair, whilst untreated women continued to lose their hair.

What’s more: 2 out of 3 women who stay on the Hair Centre Treatment Programme (HCTP) for long-term treatment will experience some re-growth of their hair.

Don’t wait until it’s too late. Re-growing hair once it’s gone is much harder than conserving the hair you already have. For best results, act now!

Hair loss might be an inevitable part of your genetic make up, but baldness doesn’t have to be. The Hair Centre Treatment Programme (HCTP) can help you keep healthy hair.

Despite your odds of experiencing hair loss being relatively high, if you experience hair loss as a result of female pattern baldness, you can retain your hair and feel better about the way you look by joining The Hair Centre trichology-led, professional Hair Centre Treatment Programme (HCTP).

Cornrows A Problem?

Cornrows are a traditional style of hair grooming where the hair is braided very close to the scalp, using an underhand, upward motion to produce a continuous, raised row. Contrary to appearance and popular belief, no braided style should ever be tight or uncomfortable. Cornrows can be formed, as the name implies, in simple, straight lines; or, in complicated geometric or curvilinear designs. Often favored for their easy maintenance, cornrows can be left in for weeks at a time simply by carefully washing the hair and then regularly oiling the scalp and hair. Cornrowed hairstyles are often adorned with beads or cowry shells, in the African tradition. Depending on the region of the world, cornrows can be worn by either men or women.

The Hair Centre as a company specialises in Black Hair Problems that cause Hair Loss and scalp problems.

We ensure that our patients’ needs are met specifically.

We offer a full range of trichologically formulated products for Black Hair that have been subject to exhaustive clinical trials and testing to make sure they target disorders of the hair and scalp effectively.

You can telephone us on 0207 976 6868 and speak directly to us and seek professional qualified advice from a Westminster Trichologist. This will allow our trichologists to diagnose your problem correctly and recommend the correct trichologically prescribed treatments on the same day.

Up until 10 years ago if you were losing your hair or were suffering from a scalp disorder or a stress orientated hair loss problem your choices as a Black Woman or Man were very limited.

You could contact your GP who might be sympathetic but generally dismissive and clueless or contact one of the 3 or 4 trichological clinics that there were in London in those days.

Now it’s a minefield with products, and there are hundreds of people it seems all specialising in Black Hair Loss Problems.

So how do you choose a top Black Hair Expert (Westminster Trichologist), a specialist that really knows what they are talking about?

Quite simply interview them. Phone them up and talk to them, find out how they work and what their results are.

Book in for a one to one consultation with a verified Westminster Trichologist.

If you are not getting an open reply or you feel uncomfortable on the phone then simply move on and try the next one, the choice is huge.

BEWARE of the large commercial CENTRES that spend all their time talking about the competition on their websites when they should be focusing on you the patient.

The key is to talk to our centre and make us work for you the patient.

Ask us to try and give you the answers over the phone.

There really is nothing too difficult here as we are truly confident that we provide the very best all round treatments and patient care that is second to none.

It is critical that your choice is correct in the first instance as a year wasted at the wrong CENTRE or on the wrong treatments can be the difference between success and failure and a regret that is with you for life.
