VITASTIM
Description
Herbal based aqueous lotion with multivitamin system, applied topically to stimulate dormant hair follicles and accelerate hair growth in the treatment of androgenic alopecia.
Mode of Action
Hop extract contains phyto-oestrogens, naturally occurring oestrogens that inhibit the activity of the enzyme 5-x reductase and reduce the proliferation of the potent metabolite di-hydroxy testosterone (DHT), which causes atrophy, and eventual loss of the hair follicle in genetically determined areas of the scalp. These phyto-oestrogens can also recover dormant hair follicles suppressed by androgen activity. The multivitamin system, particularly Vitamin H (Biotin) catalyse the process of conversion of amino acids into keratin hair cells and accelerates growth and diameter of the hair from the dermal papilla.
Clinical Trials
Considerable empirical evidence has supported the oestrogen like activity of hop extract and recent scientific research has confirmed that hop extract shows a potent acceleration on hair growth in cases of androgenic alopecia.
BIOSTIM
Description
A combination of naturally occurring 5-reductase inhibitors with added multivitamin complex for the stimulation of hair follicles suppressed by the action of Androgens in cases of androgenic alopecia.
Mode of Action
5-reductase inhibitors act as anti-androgens, reducing the levels of di-hydroxy testosterone (DHT), decreasing the levels of androgen activity at the target site. The consequent reduced levels of DHT stabilise or reduce the level of atrophy of the hair follicle and shaft in the genetically determined areas in the treatment of androgenic alopecia. The hair growth period (anagen) is prolonged and promotes increased hair growth and density.
Clinical Trials
Clinical trials of the natural ingredients have established anti-androgen activity and the ability to suppress di-hydroxy testosterone (DHT) formation, beneficial in cases of androgenic alopecia. The increased dermal papilla activity increases hair cell production and proliferation, increases the number of hairs in the anagen phase and increases the A/T (anagen/telogen ration).
