Answer: Azelaic Acid is a dicarboxylic acid found naturally occurring in whole grain cereals. It has been FDA approved for topical use to treat acne. It has been used by dermatologists to lighten pigmented skin. It has a antimicrobial activity and normalizes keratinization and is also believed to inhibit DHT this is why it is used in some hair loss preparartions by a few centres.
